Afrocaracolas Saberes Itinerantes is an Afrofeminist collective that works directly on the territory in Acapulco and the Costa Chica of Guerrero (southern Mexico). We work from an Afro-centered approach and an anti-racist perspective. We are made up of women who assume ourselves to be black, coastal and Afro-Mexican. We vindicate the black roots of our ancestors. The anti-racist agenda that we work on has the following axes: defense of territory and climate justice; economic autonomy; mental health in Afro-activism; political empowerment of Afro-Mexican women; reproductive justice and sexual health; youth, communication and creation of anti-racist narratives. We have an Itinerant Afro Film School that promotes the creation of documentaries and reports on the problems in our communities. We carry out political advocacy and dialogue with governmental institutions to promote the black agenda. We also promote the agenda at the international level, participating in the Permanent Afrodescendant Forums and making alliances with national and international networks.
Afrocaracolas Saberes Itinerantes receives funding support from the Black Feminist Fund through our Solidarity Fund.
