Kaiso Women’s Group was established in 2012 and focuses mainly on mobilising and creating awareness among young women on their rights, HIV/AIDS and their potential to participate in sustainable development processes right from the grassroots. The group is located in Kaiso village on the shores of Lake Albert in the oil rich Western Uganda. The group has been working on mobilizing and preparing young girls and women to cope up with challenges associated with oil industry and to take part in environmental conservation efforts. Kaiso Women’s Group uses advocacy through drama, petitions, community sensitization and solidarity actions to mobilize women and carrying the message on social and environmental justice.
Kaiso Women’s Group receives funding support from the Black Feminist Fund through our Solidarity Fund.
