Mizangas Movimiento de Mujeres Afro

Mizangas Movimiento de Mujeres Afro is a collective of diverse cis-trans women formed in 2006 for political advocacy. Their mission is to promote the construction and consolidation of a broad movement of Afro women that incorporates the intersecting perspectives of race-ethnicity, gender, class, generations and all the realities that cross us as Afro-diasporic women in the territory, locally, nationally, regionally and internationally. Mizangas is a word of African origin that means each of the beads that make up a necklace of protection. For them, each one in its diversity makes up the whole.

Mizangas receives funding support from the Black Feminist Fund through our Sustain Fund.
